Finally The Beet Shield is out and available at kravebeauty.com. I know some of you guys might be aware of our circumstances, our situation here. The Beet Shield is basically the same formula as Beet The Sun SPF50+ PA++++. And we had to rename the entire product in order to bring it to the United States. US FDA regulates sunscreens as an over-the-counter drug because it makes skin cancer protective claims and for other reasons. Therefore, they only offer 16 UV filters that you can formulate with. However, the last time they updated this list was back in 1990s, which is 20 to 30 years ago. And that means the rest of the world has caught up with the newest and the most safest, the most effective, innovative sunscreen filters. And in European countries, they have allowed to use more than 29 UV filters. So in Beet The Sun we want to use the advanced filters which absorbs less into your skin and that’s far more photo stable. And those ingredients are yet to be approved in the United States. So that’s why we can’t really claim it as a sunscreen. However, the formulation is the same. Nothing has changed apart the name So Beet The Sun SPF47 in Korea is going to be changed to SPF50+. And did the formula change? No, it hasn’t. You guys are currently using the Beet The Sun SPF47. You guys are not missing out. It is the same formula, same content, just different packaging. The reason being is that the initial formula that we got the SPF calculation was actually over 55 according to Korea FDA regulation. They allow brands to list the SPF number by 20% lower. And a lot of consumers tend to apply less amount when the SPF number is higher, thinking that they can get away with using just a small tiny bit. So we wanted to make sure everyone is well protected with using the adequate amount. So we intentionally lowered it by 20% However, there were a lot of confusions There were a lot of questions from emails from DM So to make everything clear we decided to list it as SPF 50+ moving forward. So I hope there is no confusion here So this question relates to how much it actually gets absorbed into our system beyond our skin. So the best way is always to ask your healthcare provider for professional guidance Always visit your dermatologist and consult with them We consider it’s safer than most US chemical sunscreen that uses the traditional organic filters. Because we only selected the UV filters that are large enough that it doesn’t penetrate into the skin So it has little to no irritation. And we can’t either say that mineral sunscreen is going to be a safer option because a lot of mineral sunscreens nowadays are formulated with micro sized or a nanoscience particle It was pretty essential and crucial to our formulation It stabilized all the UV filters together and the formula and it acted as a really nice solvent giving that really lighter weight texture, which eventually encourages people to apply a more sunscreen in a daily basis? Our goal was to make a sunscreen that people want to eventually apply in the daily basis. Because there are so many sunscreens out there that just doesn’t give that pleasant texture or the consistency or the finish. And Beet The Sun and The Beet Shield, they are not drying or they are not mattifying at all. We don’t agree with alcohol-based toners that is there to strip out the skin However, we did a lot of research about ethanol and alcohol and what it does on the skin from the biology side. And we decided that it’s still safe. So it was definitely a conscious choice. However, if you know that you’re allergic to alcohol or ethanol or any ingredient in our formula Or if you have seriously disrupted skin barrier or if you have rosacea I don’t think you will be the right person to use The Beet Shield or Beet The Sun. I hope this answered some of your questions It does not pill up or ball up at all. Even on top of your moisturizer it sinks into your skin pretty well without leaving any wet cast or just like residue. And it just makes a perfect makeup primer or a moisturizing sunscreen We wanted to create a sunscreen that’s appropriate for daily use in modern days And we wanted to make something that’s easily washable. With it, just using our Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser which means that The Beet Shield and Beet The Sun is washable with our Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. And in order to make a waterproof sunscreen, the sunscreen really needs to stick and adhere to the skin, giving that tightness and a little bit of an uncomfortable feeling. Yeah, it just wasn’t pleasant. So we wanted to stick to something that’s comfortable and that’s pleasant enough that encourages people to use it in a daily basis But if you’re doing outdoor activities, hiking or beach days definitely use a waterproof sunscreen and probably in the future, we’ll make one. Who knows ?~ We actually did start formulating both at the same time, one mineral sunscreen, one chemical sunscreen And it just happened to be the chemical sunscreen that’s finished earlier and that’s why it is out here But we are formulating the mineral sunscreen which needs a lot more work and it’s going to take a little bit more time So thank you so much for being patient with us, but it is in the works To be honest, I don’t think there’s going to be one universal sunscreen that suits everyone out there I think if you found something that is pleasant enough that encourages you to use in a daily basis I think that’s the best sunscreen. But if you haven’t found that best sunscreen yet in your life We wanted to offer you another option to you. That is pleasant, that’s lightweight, that’s just glide onto your skin like a butter and that absorbs into your skin leaving no residue or white cast at all I’m being completely honest here If you do have super super oily skin that produces a lot of oil naturally and a lot of sweat And you live in a hot and humid climate Because this is not a mattifying sunscreen I don’t think this is going to be the ideal sunscreen for you But it also depends on how well you would tolerate the texture. But I think generally a lot of oily skin really appreciate the lightweight texture, the gel, flutey consistency So you guys can share your experience down below if you had a chance to try it out Unfortunately The Beet Shield, Beat The Sun is not fungal acne safe However, there are two options that I can highly recommend that are fungal acne safe and I’ll leave them down below So that is it for today’s video.
