We got another landslide here..
they’re already working on it.. hello good afternoon! Good morning internet! It is 8:30 in the
morning and welcome back to the channel! I am in Cochabamba in Bolivia, and today
I am leaving and I’m going to ride to a tiny town which called Quime.
It’s about 250 kilometers I’ll be riding back in the mountains so
I’m pretty excited about it Should be beautiful roads. Tricky but
beautiful. okay So before I leave Cochabamba, I should
probably fill up on petrol because there won’t be anything for some time. It’s
just really, in Bolivia, getting petrol is not my favorite! Just because it’s such a hassle here. Sometimes they fill up without problems, sometimes there are cameras, and sometimes.. yeah Good let’s see if they wanna sell me
some petrol here okay See so this is another case that they
can’t sell me here and I have to park there and then okay thank you Ah no, I don’t have .. better they have a funnel yeah
Thank you Okay there we go. I honestly wouldn’t
mind just paying the foreigner price and have them put it straight into the tank
because it takes so much time but yeah I’m not sure.. either they cannot do the
whole official registration and the paperwork’s, or they don’t want to. And in
that case, this is the only way to fill up.. so okay, that’s how it is. Okay so that took me already an hour
trying to get out of Cochabamba and filling up. It is super busy around here but it’s probably also because this road I am now
on, this is the main road to La Paz, so it’s a lot of traffic here All this public transport, all these
minivans, most of them go to La Paz So I am heading straight for those
mountains! So I’m going to do a lot of climbing! So that right there, is all Cochabamba!
And I climbed all this way up here now at 3700 meters altitude.. awesome view People are working the fields here I cannot believe it, but my
speedo broke.. look at it it’s going all over the place.. it’s going like this maybe some wire got loose somewhere.. Well, I’ll survive I am starting to think that I am NOT
going to make it to my planned destination of today because progress is super slow.
I’m averaging maybe 25 kilometers per hour and it’s already 12 o’clock still probably 200 kilometers
so we’ll see.. oh I’m going wrong Should have taken that other track Should have come here, whereas that
seemed to be kind of the main road, but this is supposed to be the main road..
oh there’s been there’s been a huge landslide there. I don’t know if I can pass.. no the road is gone, I think This is supposed to be the road. I maybe
can pass this, with a lot of effort, but I already saw a huge landslide there, so that is not going to work. Back up that
track where I went when I thought I was going wrong.. that’s a detour but I should end up at the same.. same spot that does explain why the track seemed
better going this way and why initially, I accidentally took this one. bit muddy Okay this is a problem .. another landslide and this is the only road If I cannot pass here, I have to go all the way back I’m afraid.. it looks like I can pass they just have to clean up those big
rocks mmm And now? And now? Right now we cannot pass And the other road? There is no other road, right? There is.. but you have to go.. oooh Ah no no, this is the only way I already tried the other road, but it’s also closed The road below, right? – Yes We can pass, but they only have to take away these rocks clean up.. yes, after we can pass They are cleaning up now so let’s see This was the end of the detour.. I am
finally back on the 25 this is Road 25.. another
landslide here. They’re already working on it. Hello! Good afternoon! Until Indepedencia, it’s okay? Yes, it’s okay there..
Okay, thank you! Bye! I already see another landslide over
there.. So… I made it to Independencia.. that’s the town where I’m staying now. It’s still raining, look.. yeah what a day, what a day! I couldn’t make it to the place that I was planning to and then 25
kilometers before I reached here it started raining, there was thunder,
there was lightning, I was thinking oh this is really, really bad.. And the roads
became really slippery so I had to drive extremely careful.. so yeah I guess this
means that I’m stuck here for a couple of days.. there’s no point in trying to
leave tomorrow for instance and the tracks need to dry and also, I mean all
the landslides that I saw today those happen when it’s raining or just after
rain.. So it’s possible that there’s new landslides again.. so I say
probably I’ll have to wait two days should be dry then.. There should be some sun coming, so hopefully after a couple of days, the tracks are dry and the roads
open and there’s no landslides. Fingers crossed! And then figure out where I’m
gonna go next from here, because now I have some information that the way I was
planning, is actually blocked by a really really big landslide.. So it looks like I
have to change my plan anyway and go somewhere else.. This is my room by the
way, it’s it’s kind of strange because this is not my room,
it is A room and then I have to pass through here and then this is my real room with the bathroom there.. Anyway.. I’ll show you kind of what is happening So I left this morning, from Cochabamba
here and I went this way so I’m now somewhere in this area .. somewhere here I think.. And the plan was: I wanted to ride all the way here and then you end up I
think somewhere here around this area I think.. But now it looks like I cannot..
so that means that from where I am now somewhere here.. so I did something like
tuut-tuut-tuut until there, and there is another road going here back to the main road to
La Paz so the way it looks now, I have to wait
until everything is dry and then take this other road, down here, back to
the main road and then go to La Paz I think.. I have to think about that.. still!
So that was it for today, I really hope you liked this video, if you did, please
