Hey everyone! This is Vivek at the National
Weather Service. Weve updated the forecast with increased snow accumulations across parts
of central and western Oklahoma. Here are our latest thoughts. Several bands of snow in western and central
Oklahoma will continue to move eastward through the afternoon hours. Snow is likely along
and adjacent to the I-40 corridor. This will include the Oklahoma City metro. Expect reduced
visibility in the heavier bands of snow. Road conditions will continue to deteriorate through
the afternoon, which will make for hazardous travel for the afternoon and evening commute.
Please slow down and be prepared for hazardous travel! Weve increased snowfall accumulations across
west central Oklahoma and central Oklahoma. We expect 1 to 3 inches of snow along the
I-40 corridor, mainly west of I-35. Surrounding that area, 1 to 2 inches of snow is possible.
We expect a fairly tight gradient in snow accumulations along the I-40 corridor. Remember,
snow can compact to ice, making for slick roadways and hazardous travel! After today, a break in precipitation is expected
Tuesday and Wednesday. The next chance of winter weather will be Thursday through Saturday
with the chance of additional snow accumulations. Temperatures are expected to stay below climatology
through at least Saturday. Thats our latest forecast. Please keep
following us on our social media outlets and stay safe. Have a good afternoon and check
back with us frequently for the latest forecast.
